Alex your question ... well I've had endometrisis since ? age 24 have had many laparoscopies ,drugs etc and finally had hysterectomy 18th April 09 for endometrial tumour in my womb.

I can recommend 2 specialists but can also say my findings down my endo journey if you want?

First Consultant is Mr Chris Mann at Newcross Hospital,Wolverhampton ,West Midlands England.

I trained as nurse when he was junior doctor,I know him well and he operated on me many times ,he was at Birmingham womens hospital until this year when he moved hospitals to focus more on endometriosis and less oncology.

He used to send complicated cases to London even though Birmingham womens is considered centre of excellence for Endometriosis.

Then he learnt how to treat the complicateds himself ao no longer sent to London.

By complicated I mean ,lots of organs stuck,adhered due to endometriosis or/and previous surgery

I now wonder if surgery is the best treatment option as adhesions occur afterwards........

My Hysterectomy was done by Miss Parveen Abedin at Birmingham Womens hospital,Metchly park Rd,Edgbaston ,Birmingham B15 2TG

She is meticulous as is Chris Mann in my opinion but her knowledge of Endometriosis is unknown to me? the nurses regard her highly competant,but I have had a wound and uti infection post op ^^ but have tidy scar :).

I finally improved my Endometriosis with 18 months mini pill Cerezette,the consultant expected to see lots of end she didnt ^^ unlike most times its everywhere and she also commented it may have slowed the endo tumour too.

but I had been operated by Chris in 2006.

The Cerezette is taken continuously ,no tablet breaks and stops periods/menstruation which makes stops anaemia and allows endometriosis to spread.Pain was also reduced :) just pain from previous adhesions .
